"Rewind" was a 2 years long project that explored my interest in combining digital and traditional media.
The illustrations were taken from journal entries from the summer of 2012. About a year later they were digitized, using a combinations of scanners and photographs. A few months after that, acrylic plates of the drawings were etched with the use of a laser cutter and then used for printing.
The combination of techniques and the length of the project allowed me to also explore how my memories changed. Details were added, face features were changed and the drawings naturally faded. Besides that, the multiple processes of digitalization the drawings went through dramatically altered the originals.
The results are a very personal record of forgetting places, sensations and people.
